The Study On Regional Characters Of Landscape Architecture

In the globalization times, the phenomena of "the assimilation tendency" and "the quality unifying" we called universalization appear in the landscape world, which make the distinctive regional characters of landscape architecture disappear gradually. In 20 years recently, the construction of the landscape architecture , city planning have got great achievement, the environment of people's life have been improved greatly. But the vanishment of regional characters of landscape architecture was also obvious too. At the same time, it led to several related problems. In this thesis, the object of the research is the regional characters of landscape architecture. Be face to the reasons and the problems of regional characteristics disappeared, the thesis issues several point of views by analyzing theories and examples.In this thesis, the regional characters of landscape architecture is that in particular time and space, the landscape expresses some characteristics which different from other areas because of its natural environment(topography, hydrology , climate) and regional culture, history background and other elements. At the premise of perceptual and rational knowledge of regional characters of landscape architecture, the thesis classifies and discusses regional characters of different garden systems in the world. The conclusion is that learn from the excellent gardens which are existed today, although the styles are different from each other, they all suit measures to local conditions, thinking over the natural environment , respecting the characteristics of the place, reflecting the regional culture, they are all full of regional characters.The thesis combines the "niche" with regional character landscape.In regard to the fixed position of a city' landscape, niche is the particular superiority of the city' nature and humanities. As a civilized country with long history which is full of national characters and natural environment features, we should have more spirit and connotations. They are the key points of creating regional character landscape.In order to maintain landscape becomes many-faceted, we could analyze it from three aspects: natural environment, regional culture, history and context. Meanwhile we should observe the niche principle, grasp the regional features, find the correct "niche" which is belong to itself for managing the nature.
