A Comparative Study On The Regional Characteristics Of Hweicheu Ancient Dwellings Based On Dialect Classification

Dialects and ancient dwellings are carriers of regional culture.They are formed because people living in an environment where communication is difficult,and the regions are relatively independent,with less language contact and cultural exchanges.It is a new idea to conduct a comparative study of different areas of ancient dwellings by differentiating dialects.The predecessors have explored this aspect and initially established the correspondence(pedigree)between the large dialect division and the ancient dwellings(terroir buildings).Hweicheu ancient dwellings are one of the representatives of the late feudal society in China,and have distinct regional characteristics compared with the ancient dwellings in other parts of China.This paper uses literature and case analysis,language correlation analysis,statistical analysis method,comparative research method and other research methods.Through the quantitative analysis of the differences between Hweicheu dialects,this paper explores the feasibility of dividing Hweicheu into smaller cultural sub-regions based on dialects,and analyzes the differences of ancient dwellings in different regions of Hweicheu,and then acquires correspondence between the classification of dialects and ancient dwellings.The main results are as follows:(1)According to the quantitative analysis of the difference between the initials and the finals of the 12 dialects in the core area of Hweicheu dialect(Jishe area and Xiuyi area),the Huiyu area can be refined into Jishe area,Xiuwu area and Yixian area.There are sub-cultural subdivisions,and each of the Jishe area and the Xiuwu area has its own core area and radiation area,while the Yixian area is a self-contained area.(2)Based on the field investigation and literature references,this paper establishes a framework to reflect the main elements of Hweicheu architecture,such as the facade facade,main structure,floor plan,building materials,patio form,and ma tau wallwatts.It compares and analyzes the differences of ancient residences in Hweicheu dialect area,and draws the civilization map of the entire Hweicheu dialect area that reflects the main characteristics of Hweicheu ancient dwelling buildings.The results show that there are commonalities between sub-cultural regions and their respective cores and radiating areas,in addition,there are commonalities between building materials and building structures,while there are both commonalities and differences in the cultural factors such as the facade facade,floor plan,patio form,and ma tau wallwatts.
