Study On The Characteristics And Inheritance Of Traditional Dwellings In Southern Hubei

Traditional dwellings in southern Hubei are different from those in other parts of Hubei Province,and have their own unique style.However,there are few academic studies on traditional dwellings in southern Hubei.What is more serious today is that traditional dwellings in southern Hubei are facing the danger of gradual disappearance due to the lack of perfect protection measures.Taking the recent academic activities of "Jingchu School" architectural style research in Hubei Province as an opportunity,the author delimits Xianning City in southern Hubei Province as the research area,and conducts systematic research on traditional dwellings in southern Hubei Province.The purpose is to comprehensively understand the features of traditional dwellings in southern Hubei Province and to explore some effective measures to make the local traditional features in the design of new dwellings.Effective inheritance.Firstly,the historical background and geographical environment of southern Hubei are fully understood by collecting relevant documents and records of local cities and counties;secondly,the local traditional dwellings are inspected,photographed,evidenced and surveyed by actual investigation;finally,the traditional dwellings in southern Hubei are integrated with architecture,history,geography,human settlements environment,aesthetics and other disciplines.Folk dwellings are analyzed and studied in an all-round way.The essential connotation of traditional dwellings in southern Hubei is excavated,and the style types and architectural features of traditional dwellings are summarized.The author takes the design of personal dwellings in Xianning City as an example,combines the site selection,spatial layout and characteristic components of traditional dwellings in southern Hubei,lists various types of dwellings transformation and new dwelling design schemes by means of computer modeling,and studies the specific methods of inheritance and continuity of traditional dwellings in modern dwelling design.It is hoped that it will have a certain guiding significance for the follow-up study of traditional dwellings in southern Hubei and the inheritance of traditional dwelling culture by new forms of dwellings.
