Through the investigation of distribution and history of the historic village and folk residence, this paper studied the basic features and generative mechanism of traditional folk residence in Longyou, analyzed the historic, artistic and scientific values of traditional folk residence in Longyou, and found out the model significance in contemporary countryside dwelling construction. In the end, this paper analyzed the inheriting principles, strategy and specific measures of characteristics of folk residence in Longyou, recommended excellent house mode which both inherited characteristics of traditional folk residence and satisfied people's modern needs.Through this research, we can generally know the distribution and characteristic of traditional folk residence in Longyou, it also affords guiding significance of displaying the local residence features in socialist countryside contemporary dwell ing construct ion. At the same time, during the construction of the local culture Characteristics, it has model significance that we have a specific direction of protecting and making use of traditional folk residence, make the right protecting and inheriting strategy, and dealing with the relationships of protecting, using and developing properly.
