With the continuous advancement of economic globalization,air transport has adapted to the characteristics of long international trade distance,wide space scope and high timeliness.Air transportation has become the "fifth shock wave" to promote urban development after ocean transportation,canal transportation,railway transportation and highway transportation.Therefore,the airport economic zone has provided a new platform for the rapid exchange of goods,services,capital and technology.It can be said that the development of the airport economy has opened up a new model of regional economic development and broken the law of industry transfer from developed countries to developing countries' coastal areas and then from coastal areas to inland areas.It has formed the large spatial pattern of global high-end industry with airport economic zone as the platform and point to point.In order to seize the opportunity,all countries in the world have established the airport economic zone to cultivate a new regional economic growth pole.By the end of 2018,China has also established more than 90 airport economic zones at different levels,including 14 airport economic zones at the national level.Based on relevant theories of airport economy,regional economy and economic growth theory,this paper firstly starts from the influence mechanism of airport economic zone on regional economic development,and then uses the quantitative analysis method to verify whether airport economic zone is conducive to regional economic development.Based on the basic economic data of 285 prefecture-level cities from 2005 to 2016,this paper uses the PSM-DID model method to analyze the impact and contribution of the strategy of the airport economic zone on regional economic development.The study found that from the national level,the strategy of airport economic zone has a significant positive impact on regional economic growth.Under the influence of the airport economic zone,the openness and accessibility of cities are stronger,the distance between cities is shortened,the time cost and transaction cost are reduced,and the communication between cities is closer.However,from a regional perspective,the strategy of the airport economic zone has a higher contribution to the economic development of the eastern region,the contribution of the strategy of the airport economy zone in the central and western regions is lower,and the transmission path of the regional economic development in the east and west airspace economic zones is different.Based on the above analysis results,the paper holds that the government plays a crucial role in the planning and the construction of the airport economic zone,and the appropriate policy support and reasonable planning and design are the foundation for the construction of the airport economic zone.In addition,local governments should increase investment in infrastructure,especially the transportation infrastructure,and pay attention to the effective connection of various modes of transportation when carrying out the construction of airport economic zone.Establishing enterprise selection mechanism,optimize the industrial structure of the airport economic zone,and expanding the industrial space;We should make innovations in the mechanism for introducing and training talents and implement the strategy of building a strong talent area.This paper has three innovations.Firstly,at present,the study on the airport economic zone only exists in the impact of a single airport economic zone on the local economy,and there is no overall policy evaluation of the airport economic zone strategy.But In this paper,PSM-DID model is used to empirically analyze the impact of the strategy of airport economic zone on regional economic development.Secondly,the results are universal,because this paper conducted an empirical analysis of the strategy of the airport economic zone in 285 prefecture-level cities from2005to2016.However,other scholars mostly take a single airport economic zone as the object to analyze the time series,which cannot be compared horizontally.Thirdly,considering the existence of urban heterogeneity,this paper discusses the policy effect of the strategy of the airport economic zone by region,and concludes that there are differences in the construction of the airport economic zone between the east and the central and western regions.It also analyzes the transmission path of the strategic influence of the airport economic zone on regional economic growth.
