Subtropical Campus Landscape Design

With the booming development of the economy,the diversified resources of education,and the increasing attention to the education from the public,China's higher education has stepped into a stage of popularization.Since 1998,for the higher education system in China,the strategy of expanding enrollment has been consistently implemented.By 2018,the amount of college students in China has reached up to 37 million,which was constantly surged.With such a large group of students,the campus construction is considered as particularly crucial.Campus landscape design has become a common challenge for all modern developing universities.Generally,the landscape design directly displays the overall environment level of the campus,and to a certain extent,it also reflects the humanistic connotation and academic atmosphere of the university.Premium campus landscape design is capable of providing immersive learning experience for teachers and students,and also increasing the cultural deposits of the university.Besides learning,with premium landscape design,the teachers and students living on campus would acquire an environment suitable for sports,leisure and creation,as well as improve their own aesthetic taste.Based on summarizing the campus landscape design and the subtropical landscape characteristics,this paper analyzed the landscape of Hainan University that is located in the region of subtropical climate,and strived to interpret and analyze the landscape design of the subtropical campus.This paper consists of seven major parts.The first part mainly introduced the research significance and main contents of the paper.The second part expounded the concepts cited in the paper and made a further demonstration on citation.The third part introduced and analyzed the geographic location,landscape plant characteristics,and climatic conditions of Haidian Campus of Hainan University.The fourth part referred to and analyzed the factors affecting campus landscape design.The fifth part introduced and analyzed the landscape cases in Haidian Campus at Hainan University.Focusing on the landscape case,the sixth part put forward proposals,and then the seventh part made a conclusion and summarized the contents.Through summarizing the current theories at home and abroad,and combing with practical cases,the paper strived for making a clear and thorough analysis on the campus landscape design in the subtropical region.
