| With rapid development of China's economy and updates of educational philosophy, campus environment has become the focus of education; therefore, the construction of external space environment has become the significant issue for designers and managers. The subtropical region of China is part of eastern humid monsoon region which is the warmest areas in the same latitude except the desert areas. It has more abundant rainfall than other areas in the same latitude, which provides a natural condition for the construction of waterfront in campus. In fact, water is very popular in campus planning in the subtropical region. Today, as we call for humanized design, how to make a more rational use of water in campus to meet sustainable development requirements has become the issue which needs to be paid more attention. Aimed at solving the mentioned above problem, the author chose humanized design of external waterfront in the campus in subtropical region as the research topic, from the requirements of subjects, combining with irrelevant theoretical study and field research, providing strategies and methods for humanized design of external waterfront in the campus. This research is divided into three parts:The first part analyzes the research background, research object, research scope, current domestic research stage and trends. Secondly, through classifying and summarizing waterfront in campus, to form a general idea about waterfront in campus, and highlight its importance in campus construction. Based on research data and comparison of old and new campus, the author points out some problems exist in present waterfront in campus and the elements may influence its design, which constitutes a basic part of this research. In the second part, through setting out irrelevant theories of humanized design of waterfront, and analyzing behaviors and psychology of college students, the author summarizes the requirements and distribution features of students'activities. Finally, from students'and campus construction requirements, the author proposes a principle for humanized design of waterfront in campus, which provides a theoretical source for the following discussion. The third part could be divided into two aspects: the first one proposes a design strategy of humanized design of waterfront from perspectives of campus planning and architectural design; the second one discusses main elements in waterfront design so as to form a system for waterfront design in campus, expecting to provide reference for future design. |
