The Study On The Strategies Of The Space Renovation Of The Old Residential Buildings

Owing to the particularity of property right and self-built traits,a large number of self-built residences in old city of Xiamen port are easily neglected by government and institute of land planning.However,the quantity of self-built residences occupies an absolute superiority,so it is urgent to make improvement.In order to conform with the strict renovation policy in Xiamen port and improve the life quality of inhabitant,it is worthy to explore the renovation of residential interior space.Chapter one and chapter two are basic sections in the thesis,the introduction clarifies the background and significance of the study,and the second chapter contains analysis and comparison of cases in residential renovation program and seven strategies on renovating living space.And structure reinforcement,comfort improvement(ventilation/natural lighting should be taken into account),rational layout,blended space using,efficiency using in storage space,old houses renovation and old objects reusing are included.Chapter three and chapter four are core sections in the thesis.In the part,the author views self-built residences in old city of Xiamen port as research objects.Then investigating and summarizing its historical development,relevant policies,self-built circumstances,affecting factors and transforming need,moreover,selecting representative examples to reconstruct space,to explore the skills and strategies applied into old houses in old city so as to provide direction for residential renovation in old city of Xiamen port.Past living space can no longer meet the need of modern ways of living,so it's a new approach to discuss how lifestyle have a huge effect on residential renovation design from the perspective of residential subject.Through the specific transformation of housing space,the author tries to do everything possible to make updated living space be in keeping with the lifestyle of resident,which is the innovative point of the thesis.On renovation,the author also takes the“homestead”into consideration finally so as to maintain urban texture.There is something in common among residential buildings in Xiamen port,so spatial renovation is significant to some extent.
