Literati paintings and literati garden are an externalization of nature and the transmission of the natural concept of “the harmony between man and nature” in Chinese tradition.They create a kind of human settlement environment for Chinese literati ideals.This is also the Chinese traditional literati’s cognition and expression of nature.Both of them share a common natural cognition and philosophical tradition.They are unique creations of Chinese traditional literati.There is a spiritual intension of “heterogeneous isomorphism” in their original source.Different media languages are used to express the sense of nature,as well as the similarity between the human emotional structure and the internal structure of nature.Both of them have accumulated Chinese traditional culture and have also become the externalization of Chinese traditional culture.It is not the fundamental reason that the commonality of painting and gardening lies in the consistency of techniques,themes,and forms,namely,the direct imitation of “using paintings to enter the garden " and " using gardens to paint.”Therefore,the study of the commonality of the two cannot only be attached to the external form itself,but should explore the inherent source of “metaphysics” through this intercommunication of “physics”.This is also the spiritual core and soul link between traditional Chinese culture.At present,the academic discussion of gardens mainly focuses on the scientific standpoint of ecological view and the spiritual exploration of places.This article uses the process of imitating the nature of literati paintings and the literati garden to explore how the literati realizes the transformation of imitating the nature,and the traditional cognition of the literati’s cognition,expression and ideal.In the process of exploring this issue,this article focuses on three aspects:1.What is the nature of literati imitating? This is the cognitive source of traditional natural views.2.the creative subject-what kind of cognitive structure the literati have.The formation process of the literati’s cognitive structure is also the process of the literati’s involvement in the creation of literati painting and the literati garden under the perception of nature.3.How the literati transform their understanding of nature into literati paintings and the literati garden under the cognition of nature and their own understanding,namely,the transformation process of imitating.From the discovery of nature,Chinese traditional literati form a unique cognition of nature and use its cognition to integrate cognition of nature into painting and garden.In other words,it uses painting and gardens to create literati paintings and literati gardens which man and nature realize the ideal realm of “the harmony between man and nature”.In this process,the traditional Chinese literati have unique cognition ideas and habitat ideals for nature.This is a research path formed by this paper.It is revealed that this article is not the method of design and creation,but the cognition of the design and creation subject.The literati’s cognition on nature has not only created the art of literati painting,but also created the design of the literati garden.The literati painting presents the ideal mode of traditional Chinese living environment.The literati garden is a realistic construction of the ideal spirit of the literati in the natural environment,which embodies the Chinese attitude towards nature and life.It is revealed that the literati express the natural spirit(natural path)contained in all things through the natural artistic transformation of matter,and integrate the natural spirit with the human’s aesthetic emotion.The thousand years of painting and garden contain the soul and accumulation of traditional Chinese culture.The psychological context and our living in this ideology and soil today have psychological isomorphism and resonance.The literati paintings and the literati garden’s cognition on nature,on the one hand,explores the modern interpretation of Chinese tradition.In order to return to the roots of the nation for the design and artistic creation,it establishes cognitive pathways and creative paths that conform to the Chinese context,and provides a dimension of thinking about natural cognition.On the other hand,it also provides a powerful reference for the reconsideration of the relationship between man and nature under the environment deterioration caused by modernization and the opposition between them.
