Research On The Design Of Elderly Mobility Assistive Devices Based On The Elderly People's Trip Mode

In recent years,under the background of urbanization and aging,the urban elderly population has been increasing year by year.How to improve the life quality of the elderly has become a social problem that affects the development of the city.This paper from the point of trip mode of elderly people,analyzed the mobility assistive devices,and research the design theory of it.In the first part of this paper(Chapter 2)types and characteristics of the existing elderly mobility assistive devices are analyzed,to help it stripped from the medical assistive devices.And through the existing new technology and the concept saw the development trend of the elderly mobility assistive devices roughly.Provide clues for the research of elderly mobility assistive devices design.The second part(Chapter 3)summarizes and analyzes the current situation of domestic and foreign elderly people' trip situation,which provides a horizontal comparison for the elderly in Wuhan.Then,from the perspective of environment and human,the author analyzes the trip problems of the elderly in Wuhan.Finally,through the data investigation and questionnaire survey,found in Wuhan City,the elderly generally trip mode is on foot,however the use ratio of medical assistive devices is low,and elderly hold conflicting feelings about it.In the third part(Chapter 4&5)design method,principles and standards of elderly mobility assistive devices were summarized.First of all,the three principles of product design: humanization principle,materialization principle,environmental principle must be respected.Second,we should use the Universal design and emotional design concept to meet the needs of the elderly.In addition,from the safety,practicality points,to analysed the design standards need to be follow about different types of mobility assistive devices.The design of the elderly mobility assistive devices should be unsignifying.And through the design practice,use the walking device as an example,develop a new type of elderly mobility assistive device that suitable for elderly of Wuhan.The design remove previous "weak","old man" and other negative labels,fashionable and beautiful,able-bodied adults also can be used as a shopping cart,above that it can meet the functional requirements of elderly walker.For elder people,beyond function how to make them feel the nuances of emotional care rather than a brutal special treatment is the need to seriously consider in design.The results of this paper can provide reference for the design of other products of elder and provide more warm design for the elderly in our country.
