Design Research Of Mobility Assistive Devices For Elderly In User-centered Design

With the increasing number of the aged,their demand for life will change with the development of society,and the higher requirement of independence will be displayed.Especially in the design of support for the independent living and mobility of the elderly,it is necessary to combine new trends and new technologies to develop new auxiliary functions or experiences to improve the quality of life of the aged.However,transitional mobility assistive devices are designed to be too complex and over-designed to meet the needs of elderly people.This is obviously different from the emerging products nowadays,making it difficult for elderly people to enjoy the convenience brought about by rapid technological development.In order to better satisfy the physical,psychological and social needs of the aged,we need to look for design points from themselves.User-centered design(UCD)concepts are designed to meet their needs,capabilities,and behavior based on full understanding and analysis of users.Therefore,I will use the user-centered design ideas to guide the elderly mobility assistive devices in design and research,to explore suitable for elderly special groups of research processes and methods.Through in-depth user research on elderly people,to explore needs and pain points,and on this basis to explore more possibilities in design of the elderly mobility assistive devices,continuous verification,looking for the real problem,so that the product can ultimately meet the needs of users.The subject is written in a structured progressive manner.The first chapter concisely expounds the background the status quo at home and abroad,the significance of research,the innovation point and the method framework of the entire subject.In the second chapter,the design object and design carrier of the subject are briefly analyzed.Through the collation and understanding of second-hand materials,the design research can be better supported.The third chapter and the fourth chapter are the key chapters of this article.The third chapter puts forward the UCD concept and uses the method to conduct in-depth user research and draws the user requirement.In the fourth chapter,the conclusion and analysis of the last two are further analyzed refined into the elderly in line with the principles in the design of mobility assistive devices,and proposed transgenerational design,activity-centered design and emotional design as an important supporting theory.The fifth chapter is the design and practice of this article,based on the fourth chapter design principles and theory of elderly mobility aids design,and conducted a design assessment.The last chapter is a summary of the entire design study,including lack of conclusions and limitations,and at the end of the outlook on the subject,hoping to grind the mental embarrassment of older people through better design,accept and use the products that will help themselves.
