With the accelerating of urbanization in China,transportation has become a major problem for large cities.Due to its apparent advantages,Metro has turned out to be the priority for relieving transportation pressure and further promoting the development of large cities.However,the construction of Metro has brought a series of problems as well as needs for exploration.Meanwhile,it is also valuable to research on the comfort of the outside space of Metro entrances and exits,together with the harmonious relationships between the Metro and its surrounding areas.This thesis presented the research background,methods,significance and innovative points.Through the adoption of the Post-use Evaluation theory in Environmental Psychology,this thesis first investigated the opinions toward the outside space of Metro entrances and exits from the perspectives of Metro passengers and Wuhan citizens via the method of conducting questionnaires.Furthermore,the thesis also probed into the general situation of Wuhan metros by exemplifying the typical metros and their entrances and exits,which included the present conditions and future plans as well as the deficiency in planning and construction.The thesis pointed out that there were three major types of metros in Wuhan,respectively,community metros,commercial metros and business metros.This thesis chose four entrances and exits from each type which amounted to 12 in total as the representative subjects for the research.In addition,the thesis established evaluation factors,which divided the metro entrances and exits into three different levels,namely,core area,outside areas(space usage,matching facilities,and surrounding green coverage)as well as peripheral space.The thesis then analyzed the evaluation factors of each level and thus made relative questionnaires.After that,the thesis then conducted comprehensive interviews and questionnaires as well as making statistical analysis of the collected results by focusing on the above-mentioned 12 representative metros in three major types including the community metros,commercial metros and business metros.Finally,the thesis made a conclusion and gave practical suggestions for optimization,which aimed to draw lessons as a reference from the evaluation research for the construction of future Metros in China.
