With the urban developed into the period of rail transportation, metro entrances and exits, as the"transfer point"of urban aboveground and underground space, which also behaves as the"convergence point"between the metro and other traffic modes, the main feature of which is way-finding feature, when it distributes to the function of concentrated and expression mainly reflects way-finding feature, due to the metro entrances and exits are closely linked with their external spaces, so the play of way-finding feature of metro entrances and exits external spaces is essential to the urban transportation system. At present, there are 87 built metro entrances and exits in Shenzhen, till 2011 World University Games there will be more than 500, the design and optimization of way-finding system of metro entrances and exits external spaces is conducive to the play of traffic way-finding feature of metro entrances and exits external spaces, and it is an important part of the Shenzhen public traffic way-finding system, which will provide ideas for the perfection of Shenzhen metro construction in rail transportation period.The status analysis of way-finding system of Shenzhen metro entrances and exits external spaces commenced around 4 design elements of way-finding system: way-finding system and traffic environment have a certain combination, lasting urban landscape elements, inspiring new cultural landscape generated, but the neglect of difference of traffic and landscape environment has a direct abstraction to the play of traffic way-finding feature, and the way-finding system is lack of humane care; a small number of way-finding system use path and face of external spaces to play traffic way-finding feature, but confused path and less applications of face is common exist, the orientation sense of external spaces is weaker; some system use the modeling of metro entrances and exits and the landmark of external space to arouse visual identification, but overall, the visual image has weak links with way-finding system, the modeling and space color of metro entrances and exits are single, the landmark is not strong; signs way-finding facilities are lack of follow-up and complement, the art feature of lighting facilities needs to be improved, and barrier-free facilities are grossly inadequate.The optimization strategy of way-finding system of Shenzhen metro entrances and exits external spaces contains"holistic + functional + image + continuity"4 creation aspects of optimization strategies. Through the optimization of metro entrances and exits traffic node, the form and structure of external spaces, the visual image of metro entrances and exits, and the traffic way-finding facilities at every creation level, it will establish the whole order of way-finding system of Shenzhen metro entrances and exits external spaces; will promote the play of traffic way-finding feature; will strengthen the active role of visual image to the way-finding system; will adapt to the future development of way-finding system. These optimization strategies can guarantee the effective convergence between the metro and other traffic modes, enhance the visual image and culture of Shenzhen metro entrances and exits external spaces, ultimately form a network system of Shenzhen public transport.
