As an important part of urban road network, the urban expressway has played an important role in the aspects of converging transport corridors and easing traffic congestion. Today public transport developed positively, in order to improve its share rate many large cities have set up bus lines on fast road. Because the setting of bus station is limited by urban land and the transfer demand of passenger, some bus stations have been set up in the vicinity of freeway entrances and exits and have affected the normal operation of the traffic flow. Based on the background, this paper focuses on the following aspects of the influence that the setting of bus station have making on the capacity of freeway entrances and exits.First of all, this paper analyzes the classification of the setting of bus stop on fast road and further discusses the traffic characteristics of vehicles and buses which near the urban expressway entrances and exits. Based on this, this paper select multiple bus stops for analysis in Beijing and gather the number of station lines and the headway time of different bus lines, which is made to get the frequency of bus arrived in the peak hour. This paper also collect the related data by video in order to capture the detailed data which is consisted of traffic flow, vehicle routing, traffic structure, then fit the velocity distribution of different models on the main road and the side road.Secondly, this paper discusses the interference of vehicles which is caused by the three stages of buses inbound, docked, outbound when the bus stop is set on the upstream and downstream which is near urban expressway entrances and exits, then further analyze the impact to capacity and compare the four cases through the degree and scope of interference which is to pride some recommendations for setting the bus station.Finally, this paper introduces and analyzes three models of capacity which is related to the connection of the urban expressway entrances and exits. Based on this, establish the Capacity Model for the in-ramp and off-ramp influenced by the setting of the bus stop which is based on the kinetic theory for the in-ramp and off-ramp of the urban expressway, then describe the model parameter α. This paper has a simulation analysis on the setting of bus stop for the in-ramp and off-ramp of the urban expressway. This paper simulates 15 times based on the location of bus stop and the frequency of bus arrived, then calibrates the model parameter α through queue length, travel time, delay time, the number of vehicles that the setting of bus stop has an influence on the capacity of the in-ramp and off-ramp.
