Classroom assessment is one of important factors affecting the quality of classroom-teaching.And as a part of classroom-teaching,effective classroom assessment makes students know their own level and how to get to the future.However,with the advancement of the Emerging Engineering Education,courses will be comprehensive.Besides,complicated engineering problem and advanced technology will challenge nowadays classroom assessment which make up summative assessment.Therefore,updating the classroom assessment of paradigm and methods is a priority.It meets the real need of Emerging Engineering Education reforming,and the paradigm of “ assessment for learning” asking.It also narrows the gap between the classroom assessment reality and the “ought to be”.The paper discusses the purpose,process and methods of Emerging Engineering Education classroom assessment by using literature research method,action research method,case study and so on.First and foremost,the paper analyzes the situation in Emerging Engineering Education reforming,which asks that classroom assessment has to update ideas,establish new standards and develop to meet the need of education reform.At the same time,based on students' outcome,we explore the new methods for Emerging Engineering Education specifically,clarifying the purpose,standards,principles,and processes of classroom assessment.And according to taxonomy of Broome to focused on classroom assessment methods from the perspective of Knowledge Dimensions and Cognitive Process Dimensions.Meanwhile,according to Robert Marzano's Measure Scale for subject progress and “Three Types of Items” to design topics and scoring rules.Afterwards,feedback timely and effectively by using modern education technology.In addition,based on the characteristics of the Emerging Engineering Education subject classroom teaching and real situation teaching,there are targeted strategies to improve the quality classroom assessment.Classroom teaching includes different assessment methods such pre-class preparation,classroom theory teaching and classroom presentation,etc.And realistic situations teaching includes performance assessment task designing and scales designing.The paper takes example of the "Renovation of 67 Family Dormitory Buildings in Six Districts of Chaohui" in the course of "Soil and Soil Mechanics" of the Civil Engineering major of Zhejiang University of Technology,which provides supplementary explanations in order to improve the quality of Emerging Engineering Education classroom assessment.
