Social Impact Assessment Method-repertory Grid Analysis

With the increasing investment in national construction programs,China's basic engineering construction has entered a period of rapid development.Public infrastructure construction has provided a boost to the rapid economic growth;it has also brought some negative impacts.As an important tool for measuring social impacts,social impact assessment has gradually gained attention.However,multiple mass incidents and the inherent deficiencies in the collection of opinions by traditional social survey methods exposed the deficiencies of social impact assessment investigation method.Domestic impact assessment methods urgently need to be developed.According to the deficiencies in the domestic investigation method of social impact assessment,this thesis designed a new social impact assessment method based on repertory grid.In topic identifications and element screening,this thesis refers to the successful experience of applying repertory grid in social impact assessment by foreign examples.This thesis optimizes the steps of constructs and extraction by combining the theory of involvement with climbing interview,and explores the reliable operating procedures.This thesis conducts constructive evaluation by combining the Likert scale with repertory grid.This thesis optimizes the data analysis process by employing layered analysis tables and other analytical methods.In order to verify the rationality and feasibility of the method framework,this thesis takes the Minghu project as the research carrier,and compares it with the traditional method on conclusion and methodology.This thesis introduces repertory grid in the field of social impact assessment and relies on the Minghu project as a pilot carrier,successfully design the framework of the repertory grid method in social impact assessment.This thesis finds that compared with traditional investigation method,repertory grid is lead in design thinking,more efficient in the survey process,and more abundant in research results of social impact assessment.This thesis finds that the theme orientation of the project constructs should be interpreted from a personal perspective.This thesis finds that although using repertory grid in the field of social impact assessment is a bottom-up excavation of the constructs,it can also be consistent with the traditional theory of capital factor system.This thesis finds that in different projects of social impact assessment,the design and implementation of repertory grid must consider the characteristics of the respondents and environment when the subject of research changes,and adjust operating and implementation procedures of repertory grid accordingly.This thesis achieved the goal of applying repertory grid to design practical and feasible method in social impact assessment,meanwhile it breaks the limitations of the original scholars' single factor analysis and makes the integration between different capital elements.It also displays the characteristics of each interview's element.In addition,it transforms the application of repertory grid in China's social impact assessment locally and hopes to provide some reference for the application of future large-scale engineering's social impact assessment.
