Study On Urban Function And Morphological Development Of The Old And Surrounding Areas Of Tianjin In The 1860-1920s

In the past,the study of modern Tianjin's urban history mainly focused on Concession area and Hebei new district.However,it often ignored that old Chengxiang and its surrounding areas were the starting point for Tianjin to move towards modern city.From the perspective of urban history,this paper combs the evolution process of functional blocks and spatial morphology of old Chengxiang and its surrounding areas at the turn of the twentieth Century(1860-1920 years),which is a useful supplement to Tianjin's modern urban history research.Based on the modern city of Tianjin old Chengxiang and the surrounding area map as the starting point,through comparative analysis,literature research and access to information and other auxiliary measures,the old Chengxiang map re painted,the development process of different functional blocks list old Chengxiang and the surrounding areas,the reason and process development to study the old town and the surrounding areas of the car,and the dispersion of text information and historical map fragments corresponding to the final development and changes of old Chengxiang and the surrounding area presents to the map,so as to understand the historical function of the old Chengxiang and the surrounding areas to change and influence on city morphology.The academic significance includes: first,is the frontier research of historical city of cartography and city planning,architecture field combined with the specific historical period of the specific area.Secondly,in the process of modern urbanization,the transfer and replacement of urban functions and the significant changes in urban form have been studied.By summing up the literature,the development and change of account of old Chengxiang,marked on the map,finishing the development course of Tianjin old Chengxiang and the surrounding areas,the development characteristics are summarized,the old Chengxiang and the surrounding areas in the particular historical period function and form of the development and change of characteristics.
