With the progressing of the urbanization in China,the rail transportation systems(RTS)have developed rapidly in recent years.Meanwhile,the administration department of RTS is facing a problem of how to make the RTS operate safely,reliably and efficiently.As the critical part in a RTS,the status of the metro vehicles is critical to the running of a rail RTS.It is really important to improve and optimize the maintenance patterns,which is helpful to improve the efficiency and decrease the operation costs of a RTS.In this thesis,the maintenance patterns of the RTS in different cities were discussed.The commonly used three maintenance models,i.e.the plan-based maintenance,the status-based maintenance,and the balance-based maintenance,are introduced and compared the characteristics and using conditions of them.Then we had a survey on the maintenance operations of RTS in Tianjin and studied the problems existing in the maintenance practices of metro vehicles in RTS of Tianjin.Then solutions are proposed by introducing the tree maintenance patterns in the RTS of Tianjin according to its characteristics.Finally,the solutions are applied in the process of metro vehicles of RTC of Tianjin and the effects of the proposed solutions are testified.Results show that the proposed solutions have effects in improving the maintaining efficiencies and decreasing the maintenance related costs.In this thesis,it is validated by taking RTS of Tianjin as an example that the status-based maintenance pattern is useful in decreasing the labor costs,while the balance-based maintenance pattern is more valuable in improving the reliability and availability of metro vehicles.
