Research On The Architectural Space Of Chinese Buddhism Mountain Temples In Beijing Area

As the carrier of Buddhist culture,Buddhist architecture has permeated,enriched and influenced the development of Chinese traditional architecture.In view of its importance in Chinese culture and the development of Chinese architecture,the research on Buddhist architecture has become increasingly necessary and significant.This paper elects Chinese Buddhism mountain temples in Beijing area as the research object and studies their architectural space deeply.The paper hopes to extract the spatial organization language and artistic conception creation techniques which are suitable for the contemporary mountain Buddhism temple architecture,so as to inherit the excellent Chinese traditional architectural space construction methods and provide reference for the contemporary and future architectural creation activities.According to the method of combining theory with practice,this paper summarizes and distills the architectural spatial characteristics and spatial design methods of Chinese Buddhism mountain temples in Beijing area through field investigation,graphic analysis,comparative generalization and interdisciplinary research.The main structure of the paper is divided into three parts:Firstly,the paper reviews the development of Chinese Buddhism temples and the development process of Beijing Han Buddhism and its temple construction,and analyzes the influencing factors of the spatial form of Chinese Buddhism mountain temples in Beijing area as well as the spatial distribution and types of existing mountain Buddhism temples.Secondly,the paper selects Tanzhe Temple,Jietai Temple and Biyun Temple to do case studies,researching and describing their basic situation and the characteristics of architectural space and other aspects.And then,on the basis of this research,the paper compares the three temples from the aspects of the relationship between temples and mountains,the overall spatial layout,the external courtyard space and the internal space of the Buddha-hall so as to summarize the general spatial morphological characteristics of Chinese Buddhism mountain temples in Beijing area.Finally,basis on the above research results,the paper further abstracts and summarizes the architectural space design methods of Chinese Buddhism mountain temples in Beijing area from three aspects of temple site selection strategy,architectural layout strategy and spatial organization strategy,in order to provide reference and inspiration for the creation of contemporary mountainous temples or architectures.
