Study On Landscape Planning And Desisgn Of Resettlement Housing For Farmers

Land is important for farmers because it’s where they live and work,and is their main source of income.With the urbanization in Kunshan,a large number of peasants have lost their land and were resettled.However,there are many problems with the new resettlement housing,such as lack of neighborhood communication,unreasonable layouts,and imperfect supporting facilities,which all make it difficult for them to have a sense of belonging.After referring and collecting plenty of related documents and materials,the author first conducts site investigations on the landscape greening of the three resettlement districts of Guangfu Neighborhood,Mingjingyuan Neighborhood and Duqiao Neighborhood in Kunshan by taking records and handing out questionnaires.The author summarizes the problems of the resettlement housing in Kunshan from social,economic and landscape design perspectives,and some common characteristics of the resettled residents in terms of living habits,behavioral patterns,psychological needs,etc.Secondly,through the analysis of residential environment and the elements of landscape design,the author compares the differences between resettlement communities and urban communities,and puts forward the design concept of building a resettlement housing based on specialized landscape design.This paper discusses the principles of characteristic landscape design from three aspects of economical efficiency,functional efficiency and social needs,and expounds the design approach from eight aspects:background analysis,overall plan,functional layout,road planning and design,material selection,landscape facilities,plant landscape design and lighting facilities.Finally,this paper combines the proposed design approach with an case study,which is the landscape design of Kunshan "Mingjing Garden",to prove its feasibility in real practice that meets the needs of resettlement residents,with the hope of providing some guidance and reference for landscape design of Kunshan’s resettlement projects.
