Paul Klee was a master of abstract expressionism and one of the most outstanding artists in the 20th century.His painting language,painting form and spiritual expression in his paintings are all unique and attractive.Geoffrey Jellicoe was one of the most famous landscape architects in the 20th century and one of the most influential figures in the history of British landscape design.His unique design language,design form and design philosophy had exerted a profound influence on the landscape industry.Geoffrey Jellicoe repeatedly stated that his design style had been deeply influenced by Paul Klee,however,there was no systematical study about the influence at home and abroad.Through careful comparison,analysis,and summarization,this study concludes that the influence of Paul Klee on Geoffrey Jellicoe's design style was comprehensive and in-depth.On the design language,Paul Klee and Geoffrey Jellicoe have the most significant commonality in their skillful use of the "line" design element.On the design form,many design inspirations of Geoffrey Jellicoe came from Paul Klee's paintings.On the design philosophy,Paul Klee and Geoffrey Jellicoe's designs both focused on exploring the subconscious mind which inspired human's innermost feelings and paid attention to the spiritual expression in their works.The influence of Paul Klee on Geoffrey Jellicoe's design style,like the yeast in the design,has always played a key role and has a soulful meaning.
