| Natural village space is a place where the rural population lives and works.Its formation and evolution are deeply influenced by natural factors,such as,natural condition,rural society and economic development.After the opening-up policy applied,Chinese natural village space experienced an obvious spatial expansion process.However,there are problems of space fragmentation and hallowing in it.Chinese natural villages,especially the natural ones among Chinese middle-area,have to achieve the anti-poverty and the rural construction goals.Thus,they are in urgent need of a localized and specified road to accomplish their goals.This paper takes the Yantou River Basin,a typical geographical unit in the poor mountainous areas,as the research site.The 135 villages in the site are treat as the research objects.Spatial data analysis methods and analysis software,such as ArcGIS,SPSS are used in the study from a micro perspective.First,the paper studied the spatial characteristics of natural villages in the river basin.It includes the features of spatial scale,morphology and organization.Next,the paper focuses on the spatial evolution process of natural villages in the river basin,including the spatial evolution characteristics,the influencing factors,and the simulation process.Finally,specific solutions about the tourism space organization,the production space organization and the living space organization are submitted to improve the village space.This paper mainly draws the following conclusions:(1)In the aspect of spatial evolution,there are typical characteristics within natural villages in the river basin.First,there are large gaps among villages when they have different terrain and topography,performing in the aspect of population and land use size.Second,band gathering,group gathering,band scattered,group scattered are four typical spatial forms in these villages.Third,the living space,the production space,the ecological space and the public space are influencing and interacting with each other.(2)In the aspect of spatial evolution,after the opening-up policy applied,the natural villages in the river basin appeared to expand space scale,which was no longer controlled by the cultivated land.It begins to gather to the flat area or lined to the road side.The reason why natural villages experience spatial evolution is that the dominant factor for space changes from the arable land influence to road traffic influence.(3)In the aspect of spatial organization optimization,the goal of this paper is to present the point of re-organizing villages’ space in Yantou River Basin as a whole unit.First,they need to break the village boundaries and link to each other.Second,it is sensible to use the opportunity of regional tourism development.Based on tourism development,industrial output and space productivity can be improved.Moreover,during the process,traditional agriculture is able to be upgraded.Third,living space should give different guidance to different categories of the villages’ development potential.Meanwhile,adapting to the natural villages’ evolution process is also essential for living space optimization.Namely to do a good job on migrating the villages is important. |
