Study On Mechanism Of Business Model Innovation Realization In Construction Incumbent Enterprise Under The Background Of Technological Change

In recent years,the emergence of new technologies has broken the relatively stable internal and external environment of the construction industry dominated by traditional production methods and low level of intelligent building.It has impacted the value network established by the incumbent enterprises in the construction industry for a long time,and has caused a strong impact on the competitive barriers of its existing BM(business model),driving enterprises to implement BMI(business model innovation)and maintain competitive advantages.Taking the incumbent enterprise in construction as object of study,the thesis studies the realization mechanism of BMI under the background of technological change by the way of combining theoretical and empirical.First,based on the class classification framework of dynamic ability theory,grounded theory is applied to the paper to explore a typical case of an incumbent enterprise of construction in an exploratory case study,and the initial theoretical framework for building business innovation is extracted.Second,with the help of Schumpeter’s innovation theory,disruptive innovation theory,enterprise resource view,dynamic ability theory and organizational inertia theory,the paper discusses the relationship between the initial theoretical frameworks and puts forward the main hypothesis of the paper.In the end,the thesis makes an empirical analysis of the theoretical hypothesis model by using the method of questionnaire and SEM.The following conclusions are found in the study: Facing the internal and external dynamic environment,the dynamic ability of the incumbent of the construction industry in the emerging technology opportunities and BMI ability is more important than the original resource base of the enterprise to realize the BMI.The original resource base of the construction industry is also showing double effects under such dynamic environment.On the one hand,the long-term development of the enterprise has established a huge value network,and the formation of the effect of resource aggregation is beneficial to antagonizing the market risk,improving the dynamic ability of enterprises in the emerging technology opportunities and BMI ability.On the other hand,enterprises still use the traditional practice to deal with the external environment and form the internal lock effect.It weakened the dynamic capabilities of enterprises in emerging technology opportunities and BMI capabilities.The internal lock effect is mainly manifested as the interference to the dynamic ability of the enterprise,and the interference of other factors,such as the existence of outside learning,is not significant in the negative impact on the realization of BMI.The enterprise resource aggregation effect is the resource base for the long-term development of the enterprise.Although the dynamic ability of the enterprise has reduced the enterprise’s competitive advantage in the dynamic environment,it still provides the basic support for the enterprise to realize the BMI.Different from the research on the promotion mechanism of the BMI focused on the external environment factors at home and abroad,the paper analyses the mechanism and transmission mechanism of the above-mentioned realization,and opens the black box of the BMI from the perspective of the organization.The conclusion is of theoretical significance for enriching and expanding the existing research field of BMI,and also has some practical guiding role for incumbent enterprise of construction in the context of technological change.
