In recent years,China's economy and urban construction have developed rapidly.However,the living environment of some old buildings in the city still has problems,for example,the landscape environment and infrastructure can not fully meet the living needs of residents.At present,our country pays little attention to the reuse of old residential buildings.On the one hand,some old buildings have been renovated and repaired,but the true needs of residents have not been taken into consideration.On the other hand,the method of demolition and reconstruction has caused problems such as environmental pollution and waste of resources.The number of old buildings is huge,accounting for 50% of the total residential area in the city.The location is superior and the transportation is convenient.Residents live longer here,forming stable social networks and regional emotions.According to the architectural design standards,this kind of dwelling has not yet reached the age of use,and reasonable technology can be used to re-plan and transform the design so that older buildings can function more fully and effectively.The renovation and design of the living environment of old buildings not only needs to satisfy the living needs of the residents,but also plans for the long-term development of the living environment to provide them with more complete functional facilities and landscape environments.Therefore,the renovation of old buildings has become one of the most important directions in the current residential environment design.Renovation of old buildings fully respects the wishes of residents,provides residents with comfortable and convenient living conditions,and adopts a variety of practical and feasible renovation measures to create a sunny courtyard,installation of elevators,three-dimensional parking,increase of seats,pavilions and other designs.They all show a love for the residentsand truly create a "people-oriented" green space.To adapt to changing housing needs,extend the life cycle of old buildings,and make full use of existing resources to achieve the sustainable development of old building and integration of urban culture and regional features with the renovation and design of old buildings will enable them to enhance the residents' regional identity on the basis of fully-enhanced overall facilities,so as to better enhance the cultural image of the city.This article mainly takes the Hohhot Friendship Community as an example to carry out the project practice.Through the questionnaire survey,it studies and analyzes the residents' living conditions and the ideal living environment,and combines the geographical and cultural characteristics of Hohhot with the design of the actual situation of the old buildings.The functional facilities and existing problems will be planned and designed according to the actual conditions such as climate,topography and geomorphology of Hohhot City,so as to better demonstrate the city's spiritual civilization while satisfying its functions.
