With the high speed urbanization in China, severe challenges include increasing land shortage, traffic congestion, and environmental degradation have been significant issues to the big cites.High density development and intensive land-using have been the important ways to deal with urban construction and future plan.Large-capacity urban rail transit alleviates the dilemma of insufficient urban transport capacity to a certain extent. However, only when rail transit and land use are organically coordinated, can the role of rail transit be better played. Many researchers have conducted a lot of in-depth research on the characteristics of land use affecting the volume of passenger traffic at orbital sites. Most of the research has focused on the impact of land use characteristics on the passenger flow of the site around a single site. However, the metro station passenger flow is affected by the land-using surrounded, also the land-use changes at the external.Through the relevant literatures review, this paper finds that existed researches on the impact of land use on passenger flow are mostly limited to the land use of the site itself, and the latest research shows that the metro station passenger flow is affected by the land-using surrounded, also the land-use changes at the external. Therefore, this paper takes the metro in Shenzhen as an example, based on the data from the metro station entrances and exits of lines 1-5 in 2012 and 2016,and the land-use data within 500 m around the station, the research starts from the site enters and exits data on the early peak time. This article hopes to study the relationship between passenger flow and land-use surrounding sites from the entire metro network rather than the single site, thus providing policy recommendations for subway planning and land-use planning around the station. The study shows that the changing in passenger flow at the site is affected by the land-use variation at the site and at the external sites;Secondly, different functional types sites are affected by land use diversity.Passengers flow at residential and employment sites are significantly affected by land use changes, while in other categories or mixed-site sites is not significantly affected. In addition, land use changes around the site can be used to predict changes in site traffic. The study shows that overall consideration of the role of land use in the generation and distribution of passenger flow at the site is necessary, when analyzing the influence factors of the passenger flow at the metro station.Hence when urban renewal or new employment centers emerging, this research can effectively predict the pressure of passenger flow changes brought about by land-use change to other sites,it also can provide suggestions for the rational arrangement of stations and surrounding land-use planning in the future.
