In the recent century, the research on the protection of architectural heritage has become more and more deep-going.Simple and isolated islands of material protection, can not satisfy the need of protection of heritage value.only if a comprehensive and complete history scene protection can ensure the continuation of the value of the architectural heritage. The so-called scene is usually abstract and difficult to measure. In the protection of architectural heritage, the concept of subjective protection of architects is not always able to accurately express the needs of historical scene ontology.Only by accurately and objectively analyzing every factor of the historical scene can we remould the complete value of the historical scene in the historical protection. Therefore, based on this background,I proposes to deconstruct the historical scene by means of quantitative analysis. This article use the basic theory and method of the scene theory of the Chicago school for reference and on this basis, combining the "Morpho" index system of urban morphology research to build a quantitative measurement framework,I did an empirical analysis on two most ancient and adjacent historical blocks in Poland. This research absorbs two important research ideas of scene theory and the theory of urban morphology: the first is,scene theory is an important theoretical system for analyzing the scene composition of historical blocks, while its analysis is more focused on the value orientation of the scene and less about the space form of the scene. The second is,urban morphology is a method which systematically analyze from elements to entirety,"Morpho" index system can measure the spatial characteristics of material form of the historical blocks better, which helps to understand the composition of the scene thoroughly. The quantitative research of historic blocks uses the research method of comparative analysis, based on each indicator of the analysis framework, analyzes them from two aspects. One is material form inscape, which includesstreet scale, street accessibility, building parallelism, functional facilities and so on,the other is action factors like crowd, activities and values.Linking non intuitive human activities, custom activities, emotional differences and material environment changes of the entity, the local, overall scene will be more measurable,so that the research will be more objective and rational.First of all, this research proceeded from theory, analyze the related research both at home and abroad, and put forward the quantitative research framework:the two main factors of scene composition, material composition and human activities. And then, according to the survey data,to list and analyze each index of the researched two historical blocks, and objectively analyze the scenes of each scene fragment in the historical block. Finally, based on the analysis of the space characteristics and value orientation of the two historical blocks,to explain each influencing factor of the local or overall scenes, and extract the rules of scene composition. The conclusion part is summarized from two aspects. The first is present my own view on the applicability of the quantitative analysis framework of this research in the protection of historic blocks, and the framework's significance of the historic blocks protection. The second is to analyze the feasibility of the quantitative analysis framework in the historical blocks of China, and put forward the quantitative analysis research of our characteristic historic districts as a further research direction.
