After more than 20 years of rapid development,China's residential area has formed a large scale and a specific form.However,with the rapid development of social economy,the disadvantages of enclosed residential areas are increasingly prominent,and the concept of open residential area is proposed.This is also an important issue to alleviate the urban problems in China.Some large-scale closed residential areas affected the urban road traffic system,which caused the interruption of main artery and formed a large number of T-lines.In order to alleviate this contradiction,the new concept of “narrow road and dense road network” is highlighted in urban planning strategy,which points out a new direction for urban development.This article proposes an open residential area as a research object and takes Xuzhou as an example.It is hoped that through in-depth study and reflection on this model,the impact of closed residential mode on urban structure and traffic will be changed to find out the mechanism of the problem,and on this basis,a strategy for solving the problem will be proposed.Based on the study of relevant theories,this article clarifies the status quo and differences of domestic and international settlement planning.Based on a review of the research on the generation and development of residential areas,the paper summarizes the current status and significance of open residential areas and analyzes them.The current situation,existing problems and background causes of internal road system in China and Xuzhou settlements.Through on-the-spot investigations and questionnaire surveys,we will understand the subjective will and living experience of residents of closed settlements and open settlements,summarize the contradictions and problems between the closure and opening up of settlements.The inward closure of enclosed settlements gives residents a great sense of security.It also has its own unique advantages in terms of noise prevention,parking.However,closed and large scale structures in the planning structure cause traffic congestion and lack of public space vitality;Open settlements can,to a certain extent,ease the fragmentation of large-scale settlements in cities,ease traffic problems,and stimulate the vitality of the streets,but at the same time bring about security,noise and other aspects.Based on a summary of the above issues,in the analysis of open settlements to alleviate the unique advantages of urban transport problems,the advantages are used and improved,and their shortcomings are improved and optimized,respectively,from the macro principles and strategies,road space systems.Design strategies,design strategies for residential service facilities,strategies for residential security design,and strategies for designing block units will be used to design targeted strategies for open residential areas,providing some suggestions and references for the opening up of residential areas in the future.The paper hopes to establish a new model of residential planning and urban space construction,seeks to realize the realization of residential needs under the open model and to some extent solve the problems brought about by closed residential areas.As a practical model that can be used as a reference,open settlements are also an enrichment and supplement to our country's settlement patterns.
