The change of the macroeconomic situation,the release of national guidance policy,the development of competition in freight market,the continuous improvement of port channel condition and the application of ship special technology have been affecting the development of transport ship types in the Yangtze River profoundly.Transport ships in Yangtze River gradually develop to large scale,specialization,standardization and diversified transportation mode.Shipping in large scale is one of the important means of giving full play to the advantages of water transportation,which can effectively reduce logistics cost,alleviate the environment pressure of cities along the river,and promote the sustained and healthy development of shipping in Yangtze River.However,at the same time the large vessels are both affected by shipping navigation facilities and its own technical performance.Therefore,how to give consideration to both ship technical performance and navigation facilities from a long-term point of view has very important significance.Argumentation of ship principal dimension is the foundation and an important work to study the development of lock-passing ships in the main line of Yangtze River.Principal dimension of ships in Yangtze River is restrained by transport demand,navigation condition,ship's comprehensive performance and transportation safetyin the future.Improvement of the ability of ships passing locks is one of main criterion index.There are uncertainties of navigable condition in Yangtze River in the future.Features of large-scale ships needs to be analyzed,and the model of main technology need to be established.The quantitative method of ship lock adaptability also need to be explored.Ship type argumentation,mathematical model,and evaluation index at present are still inapplicable.Therefore,this paper puts forward a new thought and method of argumentation of the principal dimension of lock-passing shipsin Yangtze River in the future,so as to get the principal dimension of ships adaptable to different navigation condition,which provides technical support for the development of ship types in Yangtze River.This paper firstly elaborates the research background,purpose and significance.Based on the analysis of current and future navigation condition in the main line of Yangtze River,this paper studies shipping constraints,including the influence of ports,docks and hubs on the development of ship type.Bulk carriers as the subjects,this paper,starting with the nature performance of ships,establishes the mathematical model in the view of features of ship type in the main line of Yangtze River in the future.It studies the internal relations between principal dimensions and technical performance,and establishes the model of key performance,such as ship maneuverability,and rapidity,which leads to the scale range of bulk carriers with better comprehensive performance.On this basis,this paper establishes the calculation model of shipping lock adaptability.Combining the evaluation indexes of current ship types,this paper fully measures the integrated performance of future ship types in the main line of Yangtze River from the perspective of ship technical economy and adaptation to navigation facilities.Finally,in order to improve the lock capacity as one of the main goals,and get the principal dimensions of ship types adaptive to different navigation conditions in Yangtze River,this paper puts forward the representative ship types for the construction of new channel in the Three Gorges.
