Integration And Symbiosis—The Campus Building Reconstruction Design Exploration

With China's comprehensive national development,the colleges and universities' expending enrollment and the government's highly regarding to higher education,university changed its goal from elite education to mass education,as 19 take the education as a priority.the university campus construction s are booming,but the existing buildings have the problems of aging and insufficient space.Reconstruction need to be on the way.How to carry out the reconstruction and expansion of university campus building becomes the topic of contemporary campus construction.There are so many problems in the reconstruction and expansion of university campus buildings like how to protect the historical context and creating a strong atmosphere of campus culture,How to protect campus environment and marching forward by the university architecture' development road;How to make full use of the old building resources to realize the sustainable development of campus buildings.The paper summarizes the research background,present situation and research significance.The paper studies building reconstruction and related research combined with actual project problem.And puts forward the design idea of "integration and symbiosis" in view of the university campus building reconstruction.This paper summarizes the design strategy of "integration and symbiosis".The concept of integration and symbiosis of the campus building reconstruction refers to two aspects respectively,the "integration" refers to the combination of old and new building building,generation rules as well as the style,form,function integration and coordination,including historical memory retention,spatial logic continue,closely related to the coordination of new and old buildings,composite space diversity five aspects."Symbiosis" refers to the symbiotic of old and new buildings and the environment,including minimizing tree transplanting,combining the design of public space and landscape,building outdoor platform to interact with the woods,water system landscape,designing the roof as ecological garden.Combination of theory and practice,as an example,reconstruction Design of Forth South Building in Hust,the design applies the reconstruction strategy of integration and symbiosis to practice.Design practice add content for the exploring of thesis.Finally,the research results are summarized and the future research direction is prospected.
