Building Information Modeling(BIM)is renowned as the most influential technical revolution in the field of construction engineering and has triggered various new technology integrations and related software development.The domestic bridge engineering community started the research of BIM relatively late but develop and extend the technology rapidly.However,the integration of BIM model and the corresponding calculated one of a structure could not be achieved by current BIM soft wares.It is necessary to look into the technology and develop a software to achieve the function since information sharing and conversion play an important role in seamless integration of the two models.Taking a deck arch bridge under construction as an example,this thesis investigates and develops some pertinent applications to make BIM parametric design and structural information generation and conversion of the bridge model.Main researches are as follows:(1)Current researches on BIM at home and abroad are listed.Fundamental concept and features are illustrated.Different emphases on BIM application between bridge engineering and construction engineering are analyzed.The author compared many BIM soft wares and chose Rhino as the 3D modeling tool.(2)The ideas,methods and advantages of the parametric design of bridge engineering based on BIM technology are put forward.Parametric design principle and using method for the software Grasshopper are elaborated.The author built the parametric models of main components of the deck arch bridge in visualized logical algorithm that was written through parametric plug-ins of Grasshopper.(3)A method to share a Rhino parametric model with the corresponding model of finite element software is proposed.The author realized the generation of BIM parametric model,ANSYS model and Midas/civil model and the conversion between them using 7 new arithmetic units developed through GH-Python scripting code editor.(4)To exemplify the researches mentioned above,a parametric model based on Xialaoxi deck arch bridge is established.What's more,the tool to share models is utilized to generate a Midas/civil calculated model out of the BIM model.In this way,the author finished structural calculation of the arch rib.In the final part,some applications of BIM technology in construction management are given to validate the generality of the BIM parametric design model.
