A great number of studies report points out that it is necessary to consider the lowersupporting structure interaction model for analysis in the gird (or shell) structure design andanalysis. ANSYS, a finite element analysis software used in various fields, can be performedentirely in the gird (or shell) of the whole model building and analysis. But this kind of finiteelement analysis software was not designed specifically to gird (or shell) structure analysis,such as gird (or shell) automatic model generation, roof uniform load calculation anddiscrete variable full stress optimization gird (shell structure convenient function flaw. Itbrings many inconvenience. People began to seek benefit ANSYS comes with a series of twodevelopment tools to improve the situation. This paper will research on the secondarydevelopment of ANSYS in the Analysis of the grid (or shell) structure with the supportstructure.To explore how to make the enable ANSYS as commercial design software, has arelatively smooth and simple grid (or shell) input mode and whole structure model buildingand analysis, with the development tools provide by ANSYS. With these had been done canreduce the general engineering and technical personnel to use ANSYS workload, lowthreshold and make analysis, using ANSYS to the grid (or shell) and the supporting structuremodel analysis can be extended.In this paper a macro program had been designed and prepared based on the ANSYSplatform for grid (or shell) and the supporting structure of the whole modeling andcomputational analysis by the two development tools of ANSYS,APDL, ANSYS ParametricDesign Language,and UIDL,User Interface Design Language.According to the grid (or shell)structure characteristics and design needs, design procedures for the main module and thecorresponding function and give the detailed realization method. At the end of this paperbuilded a gymnasium whole model and a simplified support model and done static calculationon with them, by using the macro program, to show the specific operation and illustrate themacro program utility and its engineering significance.
