With the continuous development of China’s economy and the continuous improvement of people’s life level, the demand for water is increasingly urgent. To make full use of has not been reasonable development of water resources, hydraulic engineering also should constantly improve, as used for flood discharge in hydraulic engineering’s functions such as discharge structures is necessary, therefore, it has important engineering significance to study on optimal design of discharge structures.Computer aided design has been widely used in various industries in society, but because of the hydraulic engineering outstanding personality and the complexity of its design, computer aided design application in hydraulic engineering limited. As an important part of hydraulic engineering, in the process of discharge structures’ design of overflow dam type selection, selection of energy dissipater, design of the Weephole’s section and so on which needs to designers manual trial for many times, seriously affecting the efficiency of design, so the digital system for discharge structure optimization design So has practical significance. The system establishes mathematical model of the discharge structures, with resort to the interface of VB.NET,object-oriented programming was used for the development of digital system for discharge structure optimization design development. Details are as follows:1. Studied the secondary development of CAD technology, build development tools and development platform of the digital System for discharge structure optimization design.2. Combined with the actual engineering design, built the mathematical model of overflow dam, weephole and spillway.3. Digital system for discharge structure optimization design is developed, and perfect the main functional modules of the system.4. The optimization design of engineering examples by using this system, and compared with the original design scheme, the results show that the system with good interface, easy operation, quick design, reliable operation and reduce the project investment, has significant economic benefits.
