Since the existence of the concept of architecture,the core functions of the building have been “living” and “preventing intrusion” and they have continued to deepen their development.Architecture occupies the most important position in the material world where we live and work.Similarly,the building as a long-standing entity,once completed,will be difficult to change in a very long time.With further improvement of design concept and construction technology,the contradiction between human civilization and the natural environment of deepening,"green" is becoming another important factor affecting the building.In recent years,construction projects have become more professional and complex in terms of design and construction requirements.In this regard,the construction project management and optimization work is particularly important.In order to achieve a goal,building information model(BIM)technology came into being.BIM technology for China's construction industry information construction provides a new way of production,it will be the physical and functional characteristics of the building facilities to express.BIM is a shared resource of knowledge that is a platform for sharing all building information and is a process that provides a reliable basis for building all decisions in the construction cycle,which is the lifecycle from concept to demolition.Because of its its good mechanical properties and recyclability.Steel structure in the urbanization construction is widely used as an important form of China's construction industry.How to solve the difficulties encountered in the construction process of steel structure in China at present is the key problem in the development of steel structure.Faced with this development dilemma,building information model technology will help us break through the dilemma of the important means.In this paper,combined with the current application of BIM technology status,the current analysis of some of the existing results,analysis of the current steel structure construction problems encountered.First of all,through the finishing and summarization of the literature,combing the definition of BIM technology,the development of research status and application.And then,combined with BIM and steel structure project management theory,I discuss BIM technology in the steel structure project management and application process and method;Finally,an example is given to demonstrate how BIM technology is used in steel engineering and achieves the desired objectives.The article summarizes the advantages of BIM technology after the introduction of the project,and analyzes the significance and value of its application.Finally,some suggestions were made for the application of BIM technology in the construction of steel structures for buildings.
