As an important pillar industry,the construction industry is second only to themost dangerous mining industry in China. The construction industry is theaccident-prone industry. Hundreds of accidents occur every year,resulting in hugeeconomic losses and casualties which lead to broken families and other social issues,whose consequences are difficult to measure. Although the government and society paymuch attention to construction safety, the construction project safety managementmethods and techniques are still relatively backward. Safety accident cannot beeffective controlled especially in the aspect of IT application.In recent years, building information modeling develops rapidly and has beenincreasingly applied in construction industry, changing the traditional managementpattern and animating great technical innovation in the construction field. BIM has beenwidely implemented and applied in collaborative design, construction management,architectural precast component and property management, etc. RFID is a relativelymature technology globally, which has been widely used in supply chain management,medical treatment and public health, E-commerce, processing and manufacturing,services and many other areas, bringing great benefits. With the further development ofRFID technology, RFID is gradually applied in building products identification andtracking, etc.in the construction industry.This research brings BIM and RFID technology into the study of constructionsafety management to analyze the applicability of BIM and RFID technology applied tothe construction projects safety management and establish a framework for safetymanagement model, analyze security-oriented building information model, theconstruction safety monitor and early warning model and the emergency model, andthen it develops the prototype of BIM and RFID-based construction safety managementsystem based on the C#language. Based on a specific project case, this paper describesthe system’s operation process and verifies the validity of the model. Finally, this articleputs forward application suggestions and countermeasures.This research is beneficial to improve the information level of construction projectsafety management, reduce the occurrence of accidents, and provide the new researchperspective and method, which has important theoretical significance and practicalapplication value.
