Steel structure is popular used in construction industry, because of outstanding structurebehavior and mechanical performance, lighter weight, sustainable recycling propertyand easy to be erected. Steel structure shows its advantages in high-rise building, factory and traffic system. Steel structure construction shows its outstandinganti-seismic performance in Sichuan earthquake. Steel structure construction will be thetendency in the future for so many advantages when compared with traditionalconstruction.Steel structure is popular used in large complexity span construction and it provideshigher requirement for construction engineer. The complexity large span steel structureprovides great challenge to designer for material chosen and joint designed and the greatchallenge will cause safe trouble for erecter and undermine the erection quality.Traditional reinforcement drawing design, CAD based designing, can’t cope with suchchallenge since CAD cannot handle3dimensions problems. However, theTeklaStructure provides a better method to solve3dimensions model problem since the3dimensions can be easily solved by such software.The3-dimensions steel structure can be easily shown in Teklastructures and it mainfunction focus on varies drawing design and provides the details of structure.TeklaStructures shows its outstanding design behavior in engineering when comparedwith traditional CAD design and it can enhance the work efficiency shorten the timelimit for a project. In this thesis, Beijing ikea shopping center will be chosen as the model inTeklastructures to show the application procedure, for example, the model buildingprocedure, the drawing issued method and so on.
