With the development of urban construction and continuous improvement of economic level,the number of motor vehicles has increased year by year,urban traffic congestion and air pollution problems become increasingly severe,in order to improve these phenomena,local governments have been advocating build slow system for pedestrians and cyclists.Urban waterfront is the boundary area between urban land and water,it has a good natural environment and abundant plant resources,which make it become a popular favorite recreation space environment.As an important part of the waterfront landscape environment,the construction of the waterfront pedestrian and bicycle system can not only meet the needs of traffic commuting,improve the urban traffic system,but also provide the functions of leisure,fitness and recreational exchanges,its low-carbon and environmentally friendly travel mode has a positive impact on improving urban traffic conditions and improving air quality,it is an important content of urban waterfront landscape construction.However,at present,most of the studies on the pedestrian and bicycle system in China still at the level of the city's overall planning and transportation,there is less research on the landscape planning and design of the waterfront pedestrian and bicycle system.This article take urban waterfront pedestrian and bicycle system as the research object,through studied relevant information,analyzed the theory and practical research of the system,clarified the constituent elements,functions,types,and related theories of urban waterfront pedestrian and bicycle system,put forword the design principles of landscape,design content and influencing factors of urban waterfront pedestrian and bicycle system.Combined with the excellent cases at home and abroad,taking slow network,slow landscape and slow facilities as breakthrough points to explore the landscape design strategies of urban waterfront pedestrian and bicycle system.Through summarization the theoretical research and design methods,carried out the urban waterfront pedestrian and bicycle system landscape design of river water in Hengyang city,Hunan province.The construction of slow network solved the problem of accessibility insidethe site,focus on the internal continuity of the slow system and connection with the urban transport system.Integrated regional historical resources,connected landscape nodes,and created a characteristic slow landscape to embody cultural connotation and provide diverse and slow experiences to visitors.During the construction of the slow system facilities,bicycle parking facilities,signage systems,protective facilities and urban furniture are designed to enhance the service level of the venues.In addition,this paper also proposesed related content of barrier-free environment design,and put forword plant cultivation design and lighting design according to site environment and node functions,build the planning region become a waterfront activity area,which included accessible network,characteristic chronic landscape,and complete supporting facilities,and then achieve design goals of traffic slow,leisure slow,and culture slow.
