Study On The Universal Design Of Public Space In The Outpatient Department Of General Hospitals

As an important public building that benefits people’s livelihood,medical buildings have always been an important direction for national investment and development.The number and service of medical buildings are constantly increasing,making it the most popular public building in the future.However,with the increasing proportion of disadvantaged groups and the progress of social civilization,medical buildings as a public building for all people,how to fully meet various use requirements of all types of people,has become a topic of social concern,especially in the outpatient building of the general hospital.The theory of universal design provides a new opportunity for the development of the design philosophy of the “everybody” service and the development of the public space in general hospital outpatient departments.Therefore,this topic introduces the universal design theory in the public space of the outpatient department of a general hospital.It focuses on the physiological,psychological,and behavioral factors of all populations,and summarizes the use of public space in the outpatient department of a general hospital under the guidance of the principle and method of universal design.After that,it puts forward principles and design suggestions of the universal design of the public space of the general hospital outpatient department.Finally,a case of hospital building design and reconstruction is given to verify the feasibility of the proposed design proposal.In short,the subject is oriented towards the ageing society in contemporary China,popularizes the application of universal design theory,and expands the applicable population in the public space of general hospital outpatient departments,to make it more equal,convenient and comfortable for more users.The specific content is divided into five chapters:The first chapter expounds the background,purpose and significance of the study,and defines the research object and scope.It summarizes the domestic and foreign research status,research methods and technical routes,and lists the research framework.The second chapter is mainly about the introduction of the basic theory of universal design.Firstly,it explains the origin,connotation and principles of universal design concept.Secondly,this paper analyzes the advantages of universal design in architectural design research,and reveals the importance of introducing universal design theory into the public space of general hospital outpatient department.Finally,from the perspective of universal design,it analyzes the applicable population of the public space of general hospital outpatient department from various aspects.In the third chapter,the main core is to find problems.Taking Beijing as an example,it uses observation,questionnaire survey,interviews,simulation experiments,measurements and other methods to conduct research.After that,from the perspective of universal design,it analyzes and elaborates the current specific design status and applicable problems of the public space of the general hospital outpatient department.Then try to find the point of convergence between universal design and current status issues.The fourth chapter,the main content is to solve the problem.Based on the previous theoretical research,field investigation and problem analysis,this paper puts forward six principles applicable to the general design of the public space in the outpatient department of the general hospital,and puts forward the specific proposals for the optimum design.The fifth chapter is mainly for case studies.Through the example of the public space of the Peking University First Hospital,the practical design proposal of the theory is translated into practice to verify the feasibility of the design proposal.
