Introvert Poetic Dwelling In High-density Environment In Lingnan Region

As urbanization progresses,the density of cities has surged faster than we think.The most direct influence of high density in the cities is our living,which has also become a source of conflict between our ideal of living and the reality of the city.The dissertation tries to respond to the high-density living problem from a new perspective:traditional inwardness.Although the inward nature of Chinese traditional architecture has long been discussed,it usually stays at the level of discussion of traditional forms.The paper proposes an inward-looking solution to the current situation of high-density development in China's cities and the issue of residence.The thesis starts from the social hot spot of "removing the wall of a residential area" and sees the relationship between the residential needs and the inwardness behind it.In addition,in recent years,Chinese cities have gradually shifted from the original American-style development model to more introverted and high-density development that focuses on ecology and quality.This leads to a discussion of the nature of living in a high-density environment.Firstly,the thesis has a systematic overview of high-density environment from concept to theory through the study of high-density architecture.It also organizes and evaluates current high-density architecture strategies,which leads to the limitation of high-density technical housing.Secondly,Heidegger's inhabitation phenomenology defines the nature of living,thus demonstrating that the eastern traditional concept of dwelling is retrospective of inward-looking dwellings.Through inward research at high density,it has been found that inwardness leads both to high-density living and,in turn,to an ideal form of living in high-density environments.Finally,inward dwellings were promoted to specific architectural design methods and used directly to guide the design of residential buildings in the Lingnan area.Modern Lingnan urban areas are typical of high-density environments.The author conducts in-depth research on several common forms of residence in Lingnan cities,analyzes and summarizes the housing problems in the high-density environment,and uses Lingnan as an application area for inward living theory.The dissertation combines the current theory of high-density architecture and crowded environmental psychology to provide inward-looking design theory for high-density living in Lingnan City.At the end of the paper,through the design practice completed by the author,an operable model was provided for the high-density residential reconstruction of Lingnan City.
