The Renovation Of The Traditional Wood Frame House In ChenXi

With the rapid development of economy after reforming and opening policy,people's living standard increases correspondingly in ChenXi.Due to the disadvantages of the traditional wood frame,the wood house was abandoned by local people for its function can't meet the need of modern people's life style,which replaced with western style house,a new concrete house built by the native themselves.Because of the limitations of the thought,the newly-built houses are all lack of unified planning and professional guidance,formed a monotonous and resource wasted building style to destroy the original form of the traditional rural settlements.In contrast,the modern wooden houses in Europe,the United States,Japan and other developed countries are increasingly popular by its material properties and technological advantages.This article tries to find out a new method to renovate the traditional wood frame houses in ChenXi,which based on modern wood-building technology.Using the advantages of this technology to improve the traditional wood frame houses of their own shortcomings for their renovation.At the same time,bringing the modern living facilities into the traditional wood frame houses to make the function-space match with the modern lifestyle,meanwhile,to enhance the security performance of the traditional wood frame houses and improves the living environment.And we are supposed to inherit traditional architecture culture to make it survive and develop on this basis.This thesis consists of five chapters: The first chapter is introduction of this thesis;In Chapter 2,the author analyzed the natural environment and social situation of ChenXi,and then illustrated the background of the traditional wood frame houses.By investigating and mapping to the typical and well preserved villages in ChenXi,we figured out the types and features of the traditional wood frame houses,and elaborated the drawbacks of them from three factors,security performance,physical performance and infrastructure.Chapter 3 introduced several influential and domestic renovation cases in different periods,and analyzed the developed tendency and experience of these cases from the choice of materials,economic cost and inheritance of tradition.And then summed up the renovation methods of traditional wood frame houses in ChenXi.In Chapter 5,the advantages of modern wood-building technology was used to inherit traditional culture,meanwhile,to generate some new renovation methods in wooden material system of traditional wood frame houses in ChenXi,from building structures and construction.And then made the update feasibility analysis.Finally,the author obtained the corresponding conclusions,to push the development of traditional wood frame houses in the process of modernization.
