Over the past 40 years of reform and opening up,China’s economy has developed rapidly.People’s longing for a better life is no longer limited to the material economy, but also puts forward higher requirements for environmental quality and food safety.China is a large agricultural country and the country with the most serious agricultural pollution. The widespread use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides brought about by the promotion of agricultural biochemical technology is the most important cause of agricultural pollution. On the one hand, the application of agricultural technology may cause the intensive use of energy elements and pollute the environment;on the other hand,it can also substantially alleviate the negative environmental spillover caused by energy elements by increasing the output efficiency of energy elements. In order to study the mechanism and specific impact of agricultural technological progress on the environment, explore the feasibility of developing agricultural technology to alleviate agricultural pollution. This article will build a theoretical model based on the Harris-Todaro model to study the environmental and economic effects of agricultural technological progress, and compare the long-term and short-term effects. In the theoretical model section, this paper establishes a three-sector binary economic theory model, which divides agricultural technological progress into two aspects briefly. The reduction of agricultural production losses on the other hand is the optimization of the ecological environment brought about by the advancement of health technology, the improvement of the quality of agricultural products and the damage to the health of the labor force. We use the production technology coefficient and health technology coefficient to express. The study found that short-term technological advances in agricultural production will exacerbate the use of polluting production factors and reduce social human capital.Short-term health technological advances will also exacerbate the use of polluting production factors, but when the use of polluting production factors resulting from health technological advances increases less, the level of human capital will not decrease. The improvement of long-term health technology will reduce the use of polluting elements and increase social human capital. In the numerical simulation part, the function in the theoretical model is set as a specific function, and the macroeconomic data is brought in to carry out parameter calibration to investigate the environmental and economic effects of long-term and short-term agricultural technological progress.Quantitative analysis verifies the proposition of the theoretical model, and obtains that short-term agricultural production technological advancement promotes the use of polluting production factors more than healthy technological advancement.Based on the results of theoretical models and numerical simulations,it is proposed at the end of this paper that, focusing on the long-term management of agricultural pollution and the improvement of overall social welfare, the government should increase investment in agricultural science and technology research, train more agricultural technicians and pay more attention on Quality and safety of agricultural products. |
