Research On Beijing Silk Figure

In the five thousand years of history,China has created a dotted and shining cultural heritage.As a cultural and political center with a history of more than 800 years,Beijing has profound cultural deposits and numerous intangible cultural heritages.As one of the representative intangible cultural heritages,the Beijing silk figure is three-dimensional humanoid work of art with lead as the backbone and silk as the main material.Its appellation varies according to different regions and even changes in historical development.“Doll”,“Silk baby”,“Silk child”,“Humanoid doll”,“Artistic figure”,“Silk model”,“Hang up festoons”,“Paper dolls of Chinese opera”,“Zigu made of silk” and so on.This craft restores in Beijing area,and riches in Beijing flavor,so it is known as Beijing silk figure.In the 1950 s,crafts artists represented by Ge Jing'an restored the creation of Beijing silk figure on the basis of the ancient silk figure.With the support of the government and all walks of life,Beijing silk figure has gradually opened the domestic and foreign markets,and perfected their crafts and categories in its development.It is selected as a national gift to foreign friends for many times.In the 21 st century,the development of Beijing silk figure ran into the bottleneck.The cultivation and inheritance of talents become the primary problem.Traditional craftsmanship has been gradually replaced by mechanized production,and the core craft is on the verge of lost.Secondly,the product has a small audience and lacks of social recognition,which makes it impossible for Beijing silk figure to further enter the market.At the same time,the protection of Beijing silk figure's intellectual property and the protection system of inheritors' rights and interests still need to be improved.In the face of these difficulties,I interviewed a number of inheritors and investigated the current market situation,and further sorted out the inheritance,development context and technological characteristics of Beijing silk figure.By analyzing and studying the foreign successful cases of similar humanoid artworks,such as Japanese humanoid and American barbie dolls,I probed into the inheritance dilemma and future development prospect of Beijing silk figure.
