Urbanization is a process of increasing urban population,expanding urban space,rapid economic development and social progress.As a large resource province,the air environment quality of Shanxi Province has been affected in the process of urban development.Therefore,it is of great significance for the future sustainable development of Shanxi Province to study the coordinated development of urbanization and atmospheric environment,find out the existing problems in the development process and put forward corresponding improvement suggestions.In this paper,11 cities in Shanxi Province are taken as the research object to carry out two parts of the study.The first part is the EKC test between SO2,NO2,PM10concentration and urbanization.Take population urbanization rate as the main explanatory variable and 6 indexes as other explanatory variables.Then take SO2,NO2and PM100 concentration as explained variables.So the relationship between air pollutants and urbanization can be analyzed and the influencing factors of pollutant concentration are found.The second part is to establish the evaluation system of the coupling coordination degree of urbanization and atmospheric environment quality.It uses the method of subjective and objective combination?AHP and entropy weight?to Calculate indexes weight.Firstly,it evaluate the comprehensive level of urbanization by selecting 22 indicators from four aspects of population,space,economy and social urbanization.Then it evaluate the comprehensive level of atmospheric environment quality by selecting 9 indicators from pressure,state and response of atmospheric environment.On this basis,the coupling degree and coupling coordination degree are evaluated.The results are as follows:?1?The relationship between the concentration of SO2 and the urbanization rate is inverted n-type.And it has two inflexion points which are 42.36%and 61.15%of urbanization rate.The relationship between the concentration of NO2 and the urbanization rate is inverted n-type.And it has two inflexion points which are 39.19%and 80.76%of urbanization rate.With the increase of urbanization rate,the concentrations of these two pollutants show a downward-upward-downward trend.The relationship between the concentration of PM100 and the urbanization rate is U-type.It has a inflexion point which is 40.92%of the urbanization rate.It shows the trend of decreasing first and then rising.However,it will be improvement with the increase of the intensity of atmospheric environment control in Shanxi Province.?2?In the process of coupling coordination evaluation,the first step is to calculate the comprehensive level of urbanization and atmospheric environment quality.The urbanization comprehensive level of 11 cities in Shanxi Province showed an overall improvement trend in 2004-2017.The urbanization comprehensive level of Taiyuan City is far higher than other regions.The speed of the improvement of the comprehensive level of urbanization is also the first in Taiyuan City while the other 10 regions are slow.The difference in growth rate is not significant.The comprehensive level of atmospheric environment quality of 11 cities in Shanxi Province shows a fluctuating rise.From the average value over the years,the indexes of all cities are relatively close,and there is no such serious differentiation phenomenon as the comprehensive level of urbanization.?3?The coupling degree of urbanization and atmospheric environment quality of 11cities in Shanxi Province from 2004 to 2017 is in the antagonistic stage,which has not reached the benign coupling stage.It has development potential in the future.Taiyuan City,which belongs to the type of atmospheric environment lag,had reached a coordination state from the coupling coordination by 2017.The other 10 areas are not in a coordinated state and are in the phase of near and slight imbalance.They belong to the profit and loss type of urbanization.And the comprehensive level of urbanization is lower than the comprehensive level of atmospheric environment quality.In the end,this paper puts forward the existing problems and puts forward the corresponding suggestions based on the study of the coordinated development between urbanization and atmospheric environment quality in Shanxi Province.They are optimizing the industrial structure,reasonably expanding the city to improve the greening rate,training high-level talents,improving the energy utilization efficiency,upgrading the air pollution control facilities and strengthening the intensity of environmental regulation.
