As a key construction area that drives the rise of Central China and the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt,Hunan Province has been steadily climbing to a new level in recent years.In 2017,the urbanization rate reached 54.62%,which further reduced the national average,but achieved rapid progress in urbanization.Behind this,issues such as the continuous degradation of land resources,frequent ecological disasters,and serious pollution of rural and urban eco-environment continue to be highlighted.Under the background of the important strategies for the construction of two types of society in the country,the coupling and coordination between urbanization and ecological environment in Hunan Province is discussed.The sustainable development of cities and towns is of great significance.The cities and counties of Hunan Province have different comparative advantages in terms of geographical location,ecological style,resource endowments,and industrial structure.This comparative advantage has a certain radiation effect on the neighboring regions.Based on the actual situation of Hunan's urbanization with people-oriented,quality-oriented,and sustainable development of the ecological environment,a comprehensive evaluation index system for urbanization and ecological environment is constructed to measure the comprehensive evaluation level and ecology of urbanization in 14 cities and counties in Hunan Province from 2002 to2015.The level of comprehensive environmental assessment and the coupling and coordinated development of the two.Using Arc GIS 10.2 for mapping,the analysis of the spatial and temporal evolution of urbanization,ecological environment,and the coupling and coordinated development of the two cities was conducted to explore the regional differences.The level of coupling and coordination between urbanization and eco-environment also reflects the overall level of economic development,spatial correlation analysis of the degree of coupling coordination,and exploration of the inter-regional correlation of economic development in cities and counties in Hunan Province.Through the research,the following conclusions are drawn:(1)The urbanization,ecological environment,and the coupled and coordinated development of the two cities in Hunan Province from 2002 to 2015 have been continuously optimized,and they have developed towards a higher level.The urbanization of cities and counties has been steadily advancing.,The ecological environment and the degree of coupling and coordination show a fluctuating upward trend;(2)The degree of urbanization,ecological environment,and the degree of coupling and coordinationbetween Hunan Province and Hunan Province have significant regional differences.The overall level of the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan region is the highest,and the development of the Dongting Lake region is relatively high.Fortunately,the development of the southern Hunan area and the large Xiangxi area is relatively backward,and the spatial level of the comprehensive level of urbanization is more obvious than that of the ecological environment.(3)There is a clear positive correlation between the degree of coordination between urbanization and eco-environment in Hunan Province.Although this degree of correlation has weakened in recent years,it still presents a clustering pattern.Based on the above conclusions and problems in the development of urbanization and ecological environment,it is proposed that we must comprehensively promote the development of urbanization,improve the quality of urbanization,bring into play the advantages of each region,formulate differentiated policies,improve the system,and promote green development;Measures such as the construction of ecologically strong provinces will promote the sustainable development of urbanization and ecological environment in Hunan Province.
