Research And Practice On Humanized Design Of Desks And Chairs For Primary School Students

Primary school plays a vital role during students' growth.Desks and chairs,as companions for elementary school students from day to night,year after year,are important for them to assist their study.However,there are some problems with the current products of desks and chairs,such as unsuitable for elementary school students' height,unreasonable space assignment,inflexible function,less comfort and inhumanity and lack of humanized emotional concern.Thus,these contributes to incapability of providing enjoyable experience to students who are users of these products.This essay is based on humanized design theory,studying on the desks and chairs which are supplied by school.By observing the elementary school students form grade one to grade six,it will focus on analyzing physical and mental development of the elementary school students,and classification,functions and development status of the desks and chairs in order to locate the problems and weakness of the products.With humanized design theory and consideration of products' safety,comfort,function and emotional concern,this paper will have a study on factors including material,color,function,ergonomics etc.,providing solutions to the product design and dealing with the main problems of the current products,to make the desks and chairs more comfortable and convenient for elementary school students,and to develop new methods and ideas of designing for elementary school students' products.
