Paraplegia is a kind of paralysis,The common symptom is the serious or complete loss of motor function of lower limbs and trunk.It needs to rely on wheelchair for walking.For example,Ms.Zhang Haidi,the famous representative of disabled people in China,is a high paraplegic patient.Although our country has designed a lot of barrier free channels for the convenient life of the disabled,but the clothing design closely related to their clothing,food,housing and transportation is rarely concerned,and there are few related clothing sales on the market.Through the life observation and interview investigation of paraplegic patients,the author concludes that paraplegic patients are different from normal people due to their physical disability,and the existing clothing for them mainly has the following problems: first,paraplegic patients need to sit in a wheelchair for a long time due to the loss of sensation and movement of their lower limbs,which will lead to fat accumulation in their buttocks and abdomen,hip circumference And waistline will be bigger than the average person.Second,the paraplegic patient's leg is inconvenient and needs to sit on the wheelchair to move,so when designing the jacket,it needs to increase the activity amount of the sleeve.Third,the paraplegic patients have poor blood circulation,leg muscle atrophy and cold waist and legs,so we should pay attention to the height of waist circumference and the design of warmth preservation for the patients' back waist when designing clothes.Fourth,whether the patient urinates autonomously or needs to wear diaper,convenient access to the toilet or changing diaper is the key point and difficulty of pants design.According to the problems of paraplegic patients wearing ordinary clothes,the following aspects should be paid attention to when designing special clothes for them: When designing the top,we should pay attention to the width of the shoulder,the depth of the sleeve cage of the sleeve,the size of the sleeve fat,the looseness of the waist,and the length of the body.We should pay attention to the length of the body,which is not only warm to the waist,but also convenient to move.For some special length clothing,we need to pay attention to the design of its structure.In the design of the lower garment,attention should be paid to the looseness of the waist and buttocks and the selection of the length.In autumn and winter,the lower garment can be lengthened to achieve good thermal effect.In spring and autumn,attention should be paid to the wearing occasions and whether there is a need to cover the leg defects to select the length.The key points of the lower garment design include whether the structure is convenient for the paraplegic patients to wear and take off and go to the toilet.Because of the change of body shape,posture and some special needs of life,it is difficult for paraplegic patients to buy clothes that meet their own comfortable and beautiful requirements,let alone formal clothes with higher requirements for style and structure.Therefore,the author starts from this major,pays attention to the vulnerable groups,comprehensively considers their life,work,psychological and aesthetic needs according to the survey results,and adds comfort,functionality,aesthetics and other factors into the design of formal clothes.For the sake of mobility inconvenience,the formal clothes are designed for women with paraplegia who need to use wheelchair.Let them not only work hard and live themselves,but also wear comfortable,elegant and decent formal clothes to show their beautiful and confident self.
