Research And Evaluation Of Functional Clothing For Patients With Paraplegia Of Both Lower Limbs

As paraplegic patients of lower limbs completely lose motor function and perception below the plane of paraplegia,a series of changes have taken place in their physiological and psychological characteristics,so the clothes of ordinary people are not suitable for them.In order to help them better integrate into the society,functional clothing was designed and made for paraplegia patients of both lower limbs,and the comfort and ease of wearing and taking off of the clothing were evaluated.In terms of functional design of clothing,this paper adopts the method of observation,interview and questionnaire survey to investigate the paraplegia patients of both lower limbs in the House of Hope.The survey results are summarized from the following three aspects :(1)more than 80% of patients need to wear diapers,and the convenience of wearing and taking off pants should be considered to replace diapers.Patients prefer the opening at the front of pants,which is connected with a zipper.(2)surface patients have higher requirements on the softness and warmth of the fabric;(3)where the structure is not fit,there are mainly the chest and back of the jacket and the elbow,the waistline and knee of the trouser suit are tight,and the back waist moves down and the foot line moves up seriously.According to the needs of patients,the main points of clothing design were summarized,and the solutions for each point were given.Finally,a jacket and two trouser suits integrating functionality and comfort were designed.In the structural design part of the garment,the incision experiment was mainly carried out to improve the structural fitness of the garment for paraplegia patients.The results showed that the main openings of the jacket were in the chest,back,and elbows,with the maximum opening reaching nearly 2cm in the back.The transverse opening volume of the lower part was mainly concentrated in the knees and hips,with the maximum opening volume of the knees reaching 2cm and the transverse overlap mainly concentrated in the popliteal fossa and the waist and abdomen.The popliteal fossa overlapped by 4cm,the longitudinal opening volume was smaller than the transverse opening volume,and the maximum opening volume was 1.87 cm at the waist.Secondly,the movement of the upper part of the foot is up to 8cm,and the movement of the lower part of the waist is up to 8cm.The garment pattern was modified according to the experimental amount.The chest before the coat was increased by 1.5cm in width,the back was set with 2cm pleats,and the cuff elbow was loosened by rotating the sleeve piece by 2cm.In the lower part,the waist and abdomen were rotated to subtract the overlapping amount of 5cm.In the rear part,the opening amount of 7cm(women's wear 8cm)was increased through optional installation to make up for the downward movement of the back waist.The anterior midline was lengthened by 8cm at the orifice,and the posterior midline was lengthened by 5cm.Trouser suit scheme 1 and scheme 2 have slightly different treatment at the knee.Scheme 1 increases the activity of the knee by rotating the garment piece,and scheme 2 increases the activity by setting the dart.In the clothing evaluation part,the subjective and objective evaluation method is adopted to evaluate the tightness and convenience of the jacket.The results showed that the tightness of all parts of the jacket improved,especially the tightness of the elbow decreased significantly.The paired sample T-test was carried out for the completion of various decomposing actions when wearing three trouser suits,and the results showed that the completion difficulty of the "pull crotch" action in the toilet activity increased except for the second trouser suit,and the completion difficulty of other decomposing actions decreased significantly,indicating that the convenience of the trousers was improved.The paired sample T test was carried out when three trousers were worn to complete each ADL,and the results showed that the convenience of wearing the new trousers was greatly improved compared with the control trousers,especially when changing clothes and changing diapers.The convenience of wearing the new trousers was the best,and the convenience of wearing the trousers 3,namely functional trousers 2,was the best.Finally,based on the research and development process of functional clothing for patients with paraplegia of the lower limbs,the general clothing research and development model for the disabled is summarized,that is,"investigation of functional needs of target population-functional design-production and evaluation" Provide R & D ideas and references.
