As a part of campus culture,school uniform has been one of the hot topics for a long time.Many schools have been criticized for their uniforms,and the change of uniforms is the direction of development.Aiming at the problems of lack of cultural connotation,regional characteristics and fashion design in school uniform design in minority areas,this paper discusses the design of school uniform in primary and secondary schools in Huhhot City,and summarizes the general methods of combining fashion and national culture in school uniform design in minority areas,that is,following industry standards,meeting multiple demands,adapting to environmental conditions and referring to popular trends.On the basis of grasping the national identity and the principle of extracting the appropriate national elements,the national elements and fashion elements are reasonably applied to the uniform design through the design method in the modern context,so as to change the current situation of the uniform design in minority areas and make the uniform play its due educational and cultural functions.This paper makes a brief comparison of primary and secondary school uniforms in Hohhot City.It is found that there are little differences in the styles of primary and secondary school uniforms,mostly sport-style uniforms.At the same time,the phenomenon of multi-school uniforms,multi-color uniforms and multi-school uniforms of the same color is the current situation of primary and secondary school uniforms in Hohhot City,which is at the exploratory stage of development.Through the analysis and summary of the questionnaire survey,it is found that the use of ethnic elements in the uniform design of primary and secondary schools in Hohhot is relatively limited.Some ethnic school uniforms are reflected,but the majority of ordinary primary and secondary schools have no ethnic elements.As the capital of Inner Mongolia Central Autonomous Region,every school should take theresponsibility of promoting national culture.In this paper,through summarizing the status quo of primary and secondary school uniforms in Hohhot,appeal analysis and design principles,the design method is summarized,which not only highlights the regional culture but also has a sense of fashion,while meeting the needs of many,and is applicable to other minority areas.
