An Anthropological Study Of Dress Fashion Of Men At Hyderabad,Sindh,Pakistan

Current research is ethnographic study of dress fashion of men,at Hyderabad,Sindh,Pakistan.The research is conducted by working at “Sae Cut Piece”,a small scale traditional cloth selling shop at “Tilak Charhi” market.Main focus of this study is to know how national and gender identities are buildup together in term of clothes and what is the role of religion in it.It shows that dress plays significant role in connecting people themselves and with the history.Each ethnic group considers their dress is sober as compared to others.Clothes also create gender differences through different colors and fabrics for men and women.In this way gender is materialized through every day practices of wearing dress.Religion is the main factor support gender differences for suppression of sexual desires.It also supports national attitude in term of dress as it is essential to wear traditional dress on religious occasions.
