The Application Of Miao Embroidery Composite Patterns From Chengbu In Modern Women’s Fashion Design

The Miao nationality is a nation of great antiquity.Miao embroidery is one of the manifestations to record local women’s lives.There are many stories embodied in the Miao embroidery pattern.The nostalgia for the ancestors,the memory of history or their own emotions and pursuits may be collected in the Miao nationality women’s works with their hands.This paper makes an intensive study of the Miao embroidery composite patterns in Chengbu,Hunan province and summarizes the different combinations.Through the re-design of the composite patterns and the application of different expression techniques,it can be integrated with the modern women’s fashion design.According to information,it is not very optimistic of the preservation of Chengbu Miao embroidery,moreover,it faces certain difficulties in inheritance.An innovative way for the inheritance of the minority culture is about to create through this design.It is expressed in a way that people can accept at present,so as to make the new design more vitality,while preserving the essence of traditional culture of ethnic minorities.With clothing as a carrier,traditional culture has been sublimated in the spread,hopefully,it will promote the inheritance and development of Miao culture in Chengbu.The design report can be divided into three parts.Firstly,we conducted on-the-spot investigations at the Miao nationality gathering places such as Chengbu,Huayuan,Leishan,etc.,analyzing the market demand of Miao embroidery related derivatives,and focusing on the market research of Chengbu Miao Embroidery in the fashion design to make a summary.Secondly,it gives a detailed overview of the combination type,theme content and modeling characteristics of the Chengbu Miao embroidery composite patterns.And the analyses of its application value,application principles,secondary design and expression techniques infashion design have been illustrated.Finally,this design practice has elaborated from the aspects of design orientation,fabric and color selection,pattern selection and style design.After the preliminary market research,theoretical analysis and innovative practice,a series of women’s clothing that meet the current fashion trends and market demand have finally produced.It is necessary to deeply explore traditional culture from the perspective of fashion design extract and redesign patterns,and combine traditional culture with modern plastic art in order to bring new vitality to patterns and clothing.The innovative design of modern women’s clothing was hoped to promote the inheritance of Chengbu Miao embroidery and make a contribution to its sustainable development.
