Research On The Design Heritage Of Guizhou Miao Embroidery Patterns In Modern Clothing Accessories

Against the backdrop of the increasing international status of NRM culture and the promotion of the declaration of NRM,China’s NRM culture has become a worldwide craze and has begun to penetrate into various fields,especially design.A new generation of designers has begun to focus on the modernisation of NRM culture,bringing the shapes and cultural connotations of traditional NRM culture to modern products,which has brought opportunities for the development of Miao embroidery in Guizhou.However,with the rapid development of Miao embroidery,some drawbacks have gradually emerged,such as the impact of modern industry on the survival of traditional handicrafts and the fact that traditional Miao embroidery works are out of touch with modern aesthetics.Therefore,there is an urgent need to explore the modern design of Miao embroidery clothing accessories that can fit the characteristics of Miao embroidery and help the development and inheritance of Miao embroidery in Guizhou.Sensual engineering is a research method that uses rational data to analyse abstract perceptions from the perspective of consumers’ feelings.In recent years,this research method has matured,and the scope of research has gradually shifted from industrial design to art and textiles,and has begun to cover the field of non-traditional culture.With reference to the functional principles and trends of perceptual engineering,the application of this research method to the design process of apparel products can help designers to quickly understand the needs and preferences of clothing accessories and thus design products that meet their expectations.The research methodology and research process of this paper is explained as follows.The first stage is the basic theoretical research stage: firstly,the artistic characteristics of Guizhou Miao embroidery clothing accessories are analysed,starting from the three aspects of base element,bone style(structure)and colour scheme,to understand the composition of Guizhou Miao embroidery clothing accessories.Secondly,the theory of sensual engineering is studied to understand its basic connotation,application principles and technical advantages,in order to pave the way for later research on sensual engineering in clothing accessories.The second phase is the sensual evaluation analysis phase: firstly,the collection and screening of perceptual evaluation vocabulary and perceptual evaluation samples.Secondly,a semantic difference scale was established and a sensual evaluation questionnaire was conducted.Finally,a comparative analysis was carried out with the help of SPSS software to understand the difference in sensual evaluation between Guizhou Miao embroidery clothing accessories and modern clothing accessories.The third stage is the visualisation of sensual evaluation: firstly,the design elements of Guizhou Miao embroidery clothing accessories and modern clothing accessories are dismantled.Secondly,the relationship between each design element and the perceptual vocabulary is obtained through partial correlation analysis.Finally,the innovative design process is summarised and the design elements that can be used in design practice are collated.The fourth stage is the design practice stage: from the listed combinations,a few design elements are selected,and this leads to the design practice of several groups of modern Miao embroidery clothing accessories.The fifth stage is the design evaluation stage: a user evaluation form is created and the evaluators are invited to rate the designed modern Miao embroidery clothing accessories,summarise the shortcomings of the design and make design optimisation.The author has responded to the call for non-hereditary heritage by finding a way to modernise the heritage and conservation of Miao embroidery clothing accessories in Guizhou and establishing an innovative design process.This design process can provide other designers with design ideas in terms of non-heritage clothing accessories and assist them in quickly designing clothing accessories products that meet the needs of consumers while also conforming to modern aesthetics.
